I created this batik painting during Covid, hoping for something that felt peaceful and grounded. Instead, while using batik wax to carefully trace the lines of a sacred geometry shape, I dropped the container of hot wax onto the artwork. I could immediately see that this blend of intention and accident was actually more interesting.
